Motivational Quotes from Bill Gates, Napoleon Hill and Ralph Nader

Leaders will be those who empower others.

– Bill Gates

The starting point of all achievement is desire.

– Napoleon Hill

The function of leadership is to produce more leaders, not more followers.

– Ralph Nader

Leadership is a skill that can be learned, honed, and perfected. Each and every person is a leader of themselves – an army of one, if you will. It is through that self-leadership that we inspire others and help them reach for the stars.

Take a moment

Take a moment to think about where you can take more charge of your life. You are not meant to be an emotional football.

Motivational Quotes from Aristotle, Steve Jobs and John Ruskin

Quality is not an act, it is a habit

– Aristotle

Be a yardstick of quality. Some people aren’t used to an environment where excellence is expected.

– Steve Jobs

Quality is never an accident. It is always the result of intelligent effort

– John Ruskin

Are you proud of the work that you do? Are you doing your best? Breaking boundaries, taking those extra steps, and daring to dream are what make us the best that we can be. Are you in the moment right now, willing to take intelligent effort?

Take a moment

To think about quality, and the quality of work that you produce. Give someone a little extra bit of yourself and see what happens — you might be surprised.

Motivational Quotes from Thomas Paine, Ralph Waldo Emerson and Dr. Laurence J. Peter

Reason obeys itself; and ignorance submits to whatever is dictated to it.

– Thomas Paine

The more he talked of his honor, the faster we counted our spoons.

– Ralph Waldo Emerson

America is a land of taxation that was founded to avoid taxation.

– Dr. Laurence J. Peter

It is said that those who don’t know talk too much and those who do know talk too little. We talk a great game a lot of the time, but there are fewer who will pause to listen to the stories and take the steps necessary to achieve their own personal greatness. Personally, I would rather watch someone doing than listen to someone talking about the steps which they might or might not have taken.

Take a moment…

To contemplate the reasons behind your own actions, and whether there have been situations where you’ve talked too much and not listened enough. While you cannot change the past, you can change the future to hone yourself to be better and better. After pondering, take on the day.

Motivational Quotes from Swedish Proverb and Stephen Covey

Rough waters are truer tests of leadership. In calm water every ship has a good captain.

– Swedish Proverb

Most people think of leadership as a position and therefore don’t see themselves as leaders.

– Stephen Covey

We should seize every opportunity to give encouragement. Encouragement is the oxygen to the soul.

– Unknown

Granted, through all of the talk of leadership, I have not talked much about the value of being a follower. Being a follower allows you to see the mistakes the leader is making, and steer your own personal course away from those pitfalls. Even if you are a follower and wish to be firmly supportive of a good leader, you should provide the encouragement that others need, because they will help you reach your dreams.

Take a moment…

To think about who needs encouragement around you. Make a note to yourself to be grateful to the one who opens your door or who fixes your car. How about your peers? Is there someone who’s incredibly passionate who needs a sounding board? Make the decision to encourage those people, and take on the day.

Motivational Quotes from Harvey Firestone, Andre Maurois and Albert Einstein

The growth and development of people is the highest calling of leadership.

– Harvey Firestone

The most important quality in a leader is that of being acknowledged as such.

– Andre Maurois

The led must not be compelled, they must be able to choose their own leader.

– Albert Einstein

in a group of people, there is always a leader. Even if the leader is not publicly acknowledged, there is a leader. Usually, this person is the most charismatic or the most knowledgeable one. Are you one of the ones who is sitting in the shadows, or are you taking the time to lead your group, your community, or your own path? Remember that even though you may not make the choice, others may elect you as their leader.

Take a moment…

To think about your own leadership abilities and where you can take the others who are surrounding you. Do you have a vision or a dream for yours and their future? Contemplate this, and take on the day.
