Treat your friends as you do your pictures, and place them in their best light.
– Jenny Churchill
It is not so much our friends’ help that helps us, it is the confidence of their help.
The most I can do for my friend is simply be his friend.
– Henry David Thoreau
Romantic love has the tendency to quickly burn out, but platonic love for friends lasts forever. When I look at those whom I love, I think about the qualities which they possess. I remember those times that my friends have carried me through and gotten me out of truly bad situations. I love those friends a lot more than merely for the romantic love and marriage that Valentine’s Day represents.
Every day is special, and each friend and loved one is important. If each day were set aside for candy and gifts, we would reach the poorhouse very quickly. Each day should be set aside for showing the gratitude and delight for having those friends and loved ones around. The gifts that your friends and loved ones give you on the other days of the year are just as important as any given on Valentine’s Day.
Take a Moment…
To think about your friends and what you can do to show your kindness, love, and respect to them. Be warmed by the thought that they will be there for you, just as you are for them.
